Sugar it adds up.

While you may not be eating boxes of Twinkies and swishing them down soda, the truth is sugar is hidden everywhere. Sugar is found in bread, condiments and sauces and you may not even be aware. When I work with clients on rebooting their biology one of the first things I look it is their sugar intake. Follow some simple steps I have listed to help cut the sugar so you can lose the pounds.

Check the label

If you aren’t reading your food labels now is a great time to start. Ingredients are listed in order of the highest quantity. If sugar is listed near the top the quantity can be high. If you read the label and thought, you were consuming something sugar free like some salad dressings you just might be surprised.

Sugar has many names

When reading your labels if the word “sugar” isn’t jumping out at you it doesn’t mean it isn’t an ingredient. Sugar has many names like high fructose corn syrup, molasses and sucrose just to name a few. If several sugars appear on the ingredients list take it as a red flag.
Sugar is sneaky just like how the pounds from its consumption sneak up on you. Being informed of what you are consuming is the best way to find out how to eliminate sugar from your diet. Stay informed! Go shopping for your food items when you have time to look at what you are buying before you put it into your cart.
